For this home office project, the brief was to transform an existing room into a sophisticated, practical workspace designed specifically around the client's needs.
The aim was to make the most of one full wall, creating a substantial amount of useful storage without making the room feel crowded. The finished design needed to accommodate books, documents and office equipment while providing a comfortable and organised environment for working from home.
Our solution was a bespoke fitted home office, combining full-height bookcases, concealed storage and a purpose-designed built-in desk. The result is a calm and considered workspace where every element has a function.
Bespoke Built-In Storage
The main feature of the room is a wall of full-height bespoke bookcases, designed and made to maximise the available space.
Open shelving provides an ideal place for books and carefully selected items to be displayed, while a series of closed cupboards below offers practical concealed storage for documents, office equipment and everyday essentials.
By taking the cabinetry from floor to ceiling, we were able to make full use of the available wall while creating a strong architectural feature within the room.
The natural grain of the timber has been left visible throughout the bookcases and cabinetry. This brings warmth and texture to the space and gives the furniture a sense of depth that works particularly well within a home environment.
Integrated Lighting for a Contemporary Finish
To complement the natural materials, we incorporated integrated LED strip lighting into the sides of the cabinetry.
The lighting subtly illuminates the shelving, highlighting the books and objects displayed within it while adding a contemporary layer to the overall design.
It is particularly effective in the evening, when the softer illumination creates a warm and inviting atmosphere without relying solely on the room's main lighting.
These details are an important part of our approach to bespoke fitted furniture: practical features are carefully integrated so that they enhance the design rather than interrupt it.
A Built-In Desk Designed Around the Client
At the centre of the office is a bespoke built-in desk, carefully designed around the client's working requirements.
Rather than simply providing a work surface, we considered how the desk would be used on a day-to-day basis and incorporated storage and cable management directly into the furniture.
A dedicated filing drawer provides convenient access to important documents, while a separate stationery drawer keeps smaller office essentials close at hand without cluttering the desk.
Discreet cable management was also incorporated to conceal computer cables and power leads. This keeps the work surface clean and organised while ensuring that the practical requirements of a modern home office are fully catered for.

The completed home office combines bespoke craftsmanship, intelligent storage and contemporary functionality to create a workspace that feels completely integrated into the home.
The full-height fitted bookcases provide generous storage, while the combination of open shelving and concealed cupboards keeps the room organised. Natural timber adds warmth, and integrated LED lighting brings a subtle contemporary character to the furniture.
Most importantly, every aspect of the room has been designed around the way the client works.
